Stalking through the grass. Ears prickling at the slightest sign of movement. His fingers tensed, as a small deer ran past. Hovering near his Cobra Daggers, his hands dropped back down again.
He was surrounded by grass, though there were woods off to the East, and he could see a sea, ocean, or lake to the South.
Then, there was a deafening roar, and a tree came crashing down in the distance. A large shadow bowled through the trees, and raced in Raikous direction. The thing reached him in under a minute, which was surprisingly fast, especially for its size.
The thing was about 5 foot high, and at least 7 foot long on all fours, it had blue green skin, and two giant, Grey, curved horns on its head. Its forelegs were thick and muscular, with yellow brown feet, but its back legs were smaller. Its face resembled a bears, though shorter. It had small, dark red eyes, and long claws.
It raised a dark, wet nose, and sniffed the air. Looking around at Raikou, it leapt, six feet in the air, and over a distance of 12 feet.
In an instant, Raikou's twin Cobra Daggers were flashing, and he was in the air, above the beasts head. Another second, and he was holding onto the things horn with one hand, the dagger that was in that hand on the floor, and with the other hand, attempting to move his arm around the beasts throat, to slit it. The thing reared onto its hind legs, in an attempt to throw Raikou off, but Raikou held onto the horn he had been keeping his seat with, and jabbed the things spine with the Cobra Dagger. Though the dagger didn't penetrate far enough to damage the actual spinal cord, it must have caused some pain, as the beast roared again, almost splitting Raikou's ear drums at this close range. He dropped off its back, and rolled, covering his ears with his hands, leaving the Cobra Dagger where it was. He dashed to his right, picked up the other one, and took a defensive stance, waiting for the thing to make its move.
After several long seconds, it charged, but before it reached Raikou, it's thick, muscular body was bombarded with Ki bombs, each exploding as it came into contact with the things body. The beast took nearly no notice of them, apart from blinking, and slowing down temporarily when one came toward his face. Raikou aimed carefully, with all his Saiyan skill, and dashed the Cobra Dagger into its eye, causing the beast to rear on its hind legs, and roar with pain.
Following the dagger, he reached the thing, and assaulted its other eye and its nose with punches, whilst dodging its attempts at mauling him with its claws, without much effect.
He leapt back into the air, and threw some small Ki blasts into its path, before bringing his arms round to his side, where they produced a small, blue light, which grew, slowly giving out more and more light, until eventually, while the beast looked as far up as its short neck would allow, the ball let out a bright flash, as Raikou released a beam of Ki energy toward his target. There was a small crashing sound, as the thing collapsed, letting itself drop to the ground, either dead or unconscious.
Raikou approached the beast slowly, carefully, scanning its body for any sign of movement or breathing. His eyes darted left to right, at the creatures paws, then to its back, to check for breaths, then finally came to rest on it's face. He crept forward, and reached out to pull his Cobra Dagger out of its left eye, before jumping back, in case of attack. None came.
Raikou decided it was safe, and walked around to the back of this beast, and pulled his other Dagger out of its spine. Crouching to wipe his weapons on the grass, Raikou stared at the beast. It had hair covering its body, about an inch long, at the most. He walked back to the head of the beast, and crouched again, to examine the horns and teeth. They were harder than almost anything else he had ever felt.
Standing, he deposited his Daggers in their sheaths, reached behind him and hoisted his Valheru Soul Reaver from it's sheath, and swung it with his full strength at the horn. The resulting crack caused Raikou to drop the sword, and cover his ears, as the horn didn't break.
Deciding it wasn't going to work, he re-sheathed the Valheru Soul Reaver and looked around him, taking in his surroundings once more, as the thrill of the fight had wiped his mind clear of anything else.
Heading toward the forests this creature had come from, Raikou started to run, pausing for breath only when he reached the edge of the trees.
Scanning the darkness beneath the canopies of the trees, Raikou couldn't detect any movement, or Ki power, though the creature he had just killed had had no Ki signature either, and there could be more of them.
He lifted one hand, and held it steady in the air. Seconds passed, and slowly it began to glow blue. When it glowed strongly enough to be seen clearly in the sun, Raikou brought his hand straight down, into a portal that had appeared in thin air. Pulling out a small vial with a thin, dark red liquid in, his hand stopped glowing, and the portal closed. He uncorked the vial, and drank the elixir, before dropping the vial, and drawing his sword Khaer.
Cautiously, all senses fully extended, Raikou advanced into the darkening forest, Khaer raised to shoulder level.
The leaves above his head rustled, and a Ki blast had nearly left Raikou's palm before he realised it had been too small a movement to be anything bigger than a squirrel.
The blue glow allowed Raikou to see farther into the darkness than he could before, so instead of re-absorbing the Ki, he held it in front of him, and held Khaer in one hand, as he moved forward.
About an hour later, Raikou found himself in a clearing, surrounded by three more of the creatures that had assaulted him before he entered the forest. Suddenly, the blue ball of energy in his hand multiplied several times in size, and pulsed with electrical jolts of energy.
Throwing the ball upward to hover above him, as the sky was darkening slightly, although it can't have been more than 4 hours past midday, Raikou took a stance that would allow him to move quickly if the beasts charged.
Facing the largest of the 3, he noticed the colour of the beasts fur was different to the others. It was reddish brown, and he wondered how he hadn't realised this until now. It seemed to have darker horns as well, but he couldn't be sure, as it was still darker here, even with the extra light from his Ki ball. He needed to try and perfect his Ki Camera move once more, and now was as good a time as any. He held one hand steady, in front of him, and a yellowish Ki ball appeared in it, which he threw around him, whilst keeping one eye out for movement from the beasts. This first yellow ball was soon followed by about 30 more, and although this wasn't as many as he usually used for this move, the fact that he was concentrating so hard on placing enough of his senses into these balls to make them count used a lot of his energy.
He knew these balls hadn't worked properly, but he could also feel the presence of the two horned beasts behind him. He saw them as shadows, in his mind, which was good enough. At least he knew where they were. The brown one was pawing the ground, seemingly about to charge, so Raikou tensed his legs, ready to jump. He heard a squeaking, and slight rustling from above him, a sound he recognised as a squirrel. But not just any squirrel. It was a Squirrel on Crack! Making the most of the distraction the squirrel caused for the beasts, Raikou dashed forward, and swung his blade straight down onto one of the smaller beasts head, crushing it's skull and killing it. By the time he had turned, the other smaller, normal coloured beast was almost on top of him. He realised the shadows of these beasts were only shown to him when he concentrated on the Ki Camera.
As soon as he'd thought this, he was underneath the beast, his sword a foot from his right hand, both legs pinned down, his right arm held at a useless angle, and the other down by his side.
Groping at his waist with his left arm, he managed to extract a Cobra Dagger from it's sheath, whilst dodging the beasts teeth, which were attempting to bite his face and neck.
Within 3 more seconds, Raikou had the dagger at least 4 inches into the beasts stomach, and had managed to push the collapsed torso of the creature off him, and roll it over.
Once he was on his feet, he had the Ki Camera in his mind again, and the Brown animal was being distracted by a smaller figure, and it was a second or two before Raikou remembered the arrival of the Squirrel on Crack. He didn't touch Khaer, as he had lost skin contact with it, so to touch it once more would cost him his sanity. Flexing his shoulders, he pulled out his Valheru Soul Reaver, and drew his arm back. As he started to swing his arm forward to deliver the killing blow, however, the beast swung his body around, and the sword struck the beasts horn. Raikou jumped into the air to avoid a swing from the beasts front paw, and threw a single ki blast into the dirt in front of it, bringing up mud and leaves into the beasts face. Leaping forward once more, he thrust with his sword, and felt some resistance, as the sword pierced the skull, before pulling back, and dropping to his knees, and concentrating on his Ki Camera. he couldn't see any more possible threats in the immediate area, so he wiped his Valheru Soul Reaver on the grass, and re-sheathed it. His hand glowed blue for a second or two, before he reached into a portal in midair, and drew out another vial of elixir to drink. Picking up Khaer, he teleported outside of the woods, back to where he had faced the first of these monsters, and where he would have a good view of the surrounding area, for warning before he was attacked.
Making camp there, he settled down for the night, with nothing to lie on, or to protect himself from nature.
He was surrounded by grass, though there were woods off to the East, and he could see a sea, ocean, or lake to the South.
