Just a short note on getting new attacks. When creating a new character, you can have three, as Trunks states, and they can either be generic attacks from the show or ones you've created yourself.
After that, every 100,000 pl you gain you CAN create a new attack. You don't have to, though, if you haven't got any new ideas for one or just don't want another one yet. This doesn't mean that you get an attack for every 100,000 pl you have, though. For instance, characters starting at 500,000 aren't going to get 5 attacks, just the normal three. Then once that character reaches 600,000 they get another attack, and again at 700,000, and so on.
Rough guidelines on attacks are similar to the notes on Wizard spells, with one difference; almost all are going to involve hurting someone or blowing something up.
They're not meant to be defensive, usually. That's why they're attacks. Beyond that, they can do whatever, but like spells they'll take longer and longer to charge the stronger they are. And of course, the higher your pl the more experience with energy you'll have, so the less charge time you'll need. Example would be Frieza. He took a relatively short time to charge his Deathball even though it was capable of destroying planets, because he was so strong.
Long as you follow these guidelines and keep the attacks from being too excessive, go nuts.
