Some time has passed since Gohan's time with his father on Earth. He and Trunks, not waiting for the others to finish their individual training, had learned the fusion technique from Goku and had moved on to training. Now, Gohan needed some information.
Phasing into view on the Supreme Kai's planet, he's nearly knocked over as Kibito Kai comes rushing past, tugging at his hair.
"Ack!" Gohan yelps, jumping out of the way. Kibito Kai skids to a halt and turns to Gohan.
"Oh, Gohan, my apologies," he says nervously. "It's just what's been going on on Earth, it's made me a nervous wreck." Gohan frowns slightly.
"I know what you mean," he says somberly. "But that's a bit of the reason I'm here. Even I can't go up against either of those two and hope to beat them, not as I am now. But if something isn't done soon..." he trails off, shaking his head. "Where's the Elder Kai?" Kibito Kai gestures over a hill, and Gohan takes off at a slow sprint, stopping near the Elder Kai. He's sitting crosslegged before his crystal ball, staring into it intently. Gohan has no doubt what he's watching. Almost afraid to look, he stops just out of range of the ball, but then realizes there's nothing but darkness inside it.
"How...are they doing?" he asks nervously. The old Kai shakes his head.
"Not so good," he says sadly. "These Saiyans, always thinking they've got the upper hand. They don't even realize how outclassed they are. They need fusion, at the very least, and even that may just barely save them." Gohan looks at him carefully.
"You wouldn't happen to know anything about these two, would you?" he asks tentatively. Elder Kai sighs and turns away from the darkness to look at Gohan.
"As a matter of fact, I do. I never imagined they'd become this much of a threat. Those two...are humans." Gohan blinks, and stares at the Kai. "Yes, that's right. Humans who, years ago, went on a space expidition and never returned to Earth. I kept tabs on them for a time. I didn't worry much about them till they crash landed on the Wizard homeworld, and after that I gave up on them as dead. But a few years later, I discovered they'd received magical enhancements from the Wizards. I shudder to think what deals may have been struck. But at any rate, these enhancements not only allowed them to survive in space, it also gave them incredible power and a mild psychosis. I watched as they traveled around, but any damage they did was minor on the larger scale of things and I paid them little attention. They would take technology and sometimes abilities from the people they destroyed, and though I didn't realize it till now they were quickly gaining in power. It wasn't till recently that they began to take on stronger and stronger warriors. It worried me, but I still didn't think it was a problem. Not until Hunter's last fight did I realize how truly powerful they'd made themselves. Stalker has a body much like a Demon's in some ways, and is near impossible to hurt with any physical attacks from what I've seen. Not only that, but he has the skills of a Human samurai and the technology of the Tuffles. Hunter is just as bad, if not worse. His body cannot regenerate like Stalker's, but it's almost like every attack made against him increases his power drastically. The longer a fight wears on, the greater his power becomes. After he was nearly killed his power skyrocketed so much higher I nearly fainted." Gohan stands in a sort of stunned silence.
"...What about weaknesses?" he asks finally. "Do they have any?" The Elder sighs.
"I really don't know, my boy. I can say with certainty that since Wizard magic created them it could undo them, but I know of no Wizard you could contact that would even consider helping one from Earth, especially one who helped in the defeat of Majin Buu. But I can say this," he says, looking seriously at Gohan. "You'll need every one of your strongest warriors there to stand a chance, and that includes you. You've already had some experience with Stalker's abilities as well, though you won't know it." Gohan looks puzzled for a moment.
"The darkness in the Time Chamber, boy. Didn't you find it odd that a place like that existed?" Gohan's jaw dropped.
"You mean...?" The Elder nods.
"Those creatures were creations of Stalker's. His abilities are many, and most of them are unknown even to me, but I do know he went into that dimension with his powers and created that place for his creations without realizing we used it as a place of training. Not that he would have cared." The Kai snorts. "And you see this..." he adds, gesturing at the darkness in the ball. "I'll wager he's about to unleash those things on your friends. I don't think you'll be happy to hear this, but the ones you killed were scouts. If you'd been in there much longer you would have met the true beasts of that darkness, something your friends are about to do themselves." Gohan pales visibly. The Elder Kai nods, looking somber.
"There's only one thing I can suggest. Get yourself down there and straighten the bunch of them out. The two fighting are too arrogant to realize the danger they're in, and we've got that one on the sidelines acting like it's some sort of picnic! They can't ALL be Vegeta's descendants, can they?" Gohan manages to grin just a little as the old Kai rants. Eventually he calms and continues.
"At any rate, get down there and tell them what you can, and get yourself into that fight too. If you can't find Trunks, buy time for those other two to fuse." Gohan nods, his expression growing serious.
"One thing though," he adds before he makes a move to leave. "Why didn't you tell Aki any of this before?" The Elder Kai sighs one last time.
"Call it the folly of the elderly. I get so easily wrapped up in the tasks at hand that I completely forget the important details that may be useful to them later."
"All right then," Gohan says, closing his eyes and putting two fingers to his forehead. The Elder Kai looks at him resignedly.
"Try to live through this one. I'm sure every one of you is going to be needed in the future, especially those two guardians." Gohan opens his eyes briefly, nods, then closes them again and vanishes.
