Gohan steps inside the gravity chamber, brooding. So many have become so strong lately...he feels as if he's allowed himself to fall behind. His newer transformation could keep him on par with them...but for how much longer, really? He shakes his head. He needs to get back to his training, and perhaps he needs to take another trip to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber once it's empty. He smiles slightly at the thought. It's been a long time since he trained there to become a Super Saiyan.
Shaking out of his memories, he strides to the control panel and hits the button, activating the gravity. His knees almost instantly buckle beneath him, but he was prepared for this after the training under 50x, and managed to keep himself standing, though his muscles strained at the supreme effort and he was forced to keep his legs slightly bent. After ten minutes or so pass, he finally manages to straighten them, and takes a deep breath. With a sudden burst of ki, he's off and running, though very slowly. Every step he takes leaves a slight mark in the floor of the training room from the weight of his body, but he keeps going. Eventually he's running around the pace a normal human sprinter would be able to manage, and he's drenched in sweat, panting.
"Geez," he mutters to himself, "I really have been letting myself go lately." A moment later, he straightens up a bit, and explodes in fiery gold as he transforms into a Super Saiyan, hair spiking, flashing, and glowing the same color as his aura, eyes turning green, muscles bulging slightly. He does a few warmup exercises to loosen himself up a little more, energy restored. Suddenly he springs upwards and flips intricately through the air, spinning and landing on his hands, then backspringing across the room, pushing himself up into the air, spinning around and landing on his feet just before he hits the wall, then cartwheeling off to his left till he nears that wall, then spinning around and landing heavily on one hand. He holds himself up for a bit, and then begins a series of what could be one-handed pushups, but his feet aren't on the ground. He continues this for nearly an hour before his arm tires, and he then switches to the other and does the same. Next come both arms, and once that's done he pushes off into the air and lands on his feet once again.
"All right, not bad," he murmurs. He takes a combat stance, and begins shadow boxing, working on moving as fast as he possibly can. For the first hour or so he only manages to speed up to about what he'd be capable of in normal gravity. He grits his teeth, and tries to move faster still. He launches furious vollies of punches and kicks until eventually the attacks are so fast that the only things visible are brief flashes of light, and eventually not even those can be seen. He grins slightly, reminded a little of what it looked like when Gogeta had almost defeated Omega Shenron. His movements had been faster than this, he knew, but the appearance was the same. This in turn reminds him of why he's doing this, and he continues his training with a new eagerness.
Hours pass, and eventually Gohan feels he has no energy left. He grits his teeth and stops his attacks, but instead of shutting off the gravity he begins to gather his energy again. With a massive burst of ki, his hair stands more on end and separates into more spikes, his muscles bulging mightily and then compacting down again, electricity flashing over his body as he reaches Super Saiyan 2. He grins slightly, some of his fatigue gone again. Still, he knows the transformations aren't truly restoring him, just giving him more energy to use up.
Now it's time for ki attacks, he thinks to himself. He thinks a minute. Too much power in here and he could end up destroying the entire place... Hmm. He'll just have to save the real intensity for the Time Chamber, later. He charges golden energy into his hands, and thrusts them outwards, firing two large beams of ki. He closes his eyes, and turns around as the beams circle the room and come back at him. As they approach, he repeats the motions and fires two more beams at the first. The blasts hit each other, and begin to struggle. Gohan slowly pushes more energy into his own blasts, and eventually the other two beams explode with no one to reinforce them. Gohan shakes his head. Looks like he needs a sparring partner.
As he had once before, he strides to the control panel and hits a series of buttons. This time, the hologram that appears is Cell. A surge of anger runs through him, even though he knows this is only a hologram. Who better to practice ki with, than the one creature that forced him to use more of it than he's ever used before or since that day. He moves into position in front of the smirking hologram. This one was programmed solely to use ki, so it did not spring forward. Instead, Cell cups his hands behind his back and begins to charge energy.
"Kaaaa....meeeee....haaaaaa....meeeee," he says slowly, the smirk never leaving him. In unison, Gohan does the same thing.
"Kaaaa....meeeee....haaaaaa....meeeee," Gohan echoes, hands also cupped behind him. A few moments later the room shudders as the ki balls in the two fighters' hands flash at their completion, and both thrust their hands out before them, massive beams of ki blazing towards each other.
"HAAAAAAAA!" they both yell in perfect unison. The ki beams cover the short distance quickly, and Gohan feels himself suddenly being forced backwards as ki pours off in twisting flashes from the point of contact between the attacks. He grins. This is more like it. He braces himself more, and begins pushing more energy into the attack. Cell laughs from across the room, and does the same. Gohan grits his teeth a bit, somewhat surprised. Of course. The training room had adapted this Cell to his current strength. It was just like the day he had killed the monster. He was matched.
The struggle continues for nearly an hour with no clear winner, but Gohan is beginning to tire. He pants slightly, and almost pushes the last of his energy forward. He stops then, grinning slightly. As he grins, his hair loses the extra spikes, looking as if he's powered down to Super Saiyan. A moment later his hair and eyes fade to black, and the massive golden beam before him slowly turns white. He's become a Mystic. More energy now at his disposal, he pushes a massive amount of power into the beam. It doubles in size and slowly begins pushing Cell's beam back. Cell finally looks worried. He pushes more of his own energy out, but to no avail. He can't compete with the energy of a Mystic. Slowly but surely, Gohan's beam overwhelms Cell. Just as before, Cell is drenched in a wash of ki from the massive blast, and disintegrates completely, the beam moving off and blowing a massive hole in the wall of the chamber. Luckily, the chamber is sturdy, and prevents the powerful attack from continuing on and possibly causing more damage.
Gohan slumps, now completely drained and feeling the weight really beginning to press down on him. He manages to drag himself to the control panel as his transformation fades away, and just barely manages to hit the button to cancel out the gravity before he falls flat to the floor, out cold.
